Packaging Research

Velkopopovicky Koze

"The project is aimed at emphasizing the values of the famous Czech brand and enlarging the number of its fans. The design of the limited edition reflects the ancient traditions as well as the mastership of the Czech brewers. Every can is a part of the Old Czechia."

The name and type on the packaging is secondary to the image and pattern used on both inner and outer wrappers. It has a very traditional feel to it and vintage style not only because of the pattern & type but because of the colours of the two layers. I like the idea of unwrapping a can, transforming it into a high-end product.

De Maria Cold Meat Packs
"The logo is a mixture between Salamanca Cathedral (place where the company is based) and acorn-fed Iberian ham. The corn shape is also used as a die cut in the package, allowing consumer to see the product within."

Unusual architectural imagery for meat packaging. The monochromatic design makes the red of the meat really come through and stand out, and the simplistic and sophisticated packaging gives it a high-end deli feel. The use of uppercase prevents it from being too minimalist.
Tesla Energy Drink
Logo//product name is designed to communicate a style of energy with a lightning bold logo, which is echoed in the general packaging design. The simple colour scheme also adds to the idea of an energy boost.

Didino Olive Oil

Packaging based around a story of a woman branding her grandfather's olive oil - using a silkscreened textile outer sack packaging, with a minimalist style typeface representative of her grandfather's walking stick. I think the simplicity and concept work well and suggest the idea of a small family-centred business.
